Like officers, equal emphasis is given on the training of the Airmen. After induction the training of an Airman starts from military training, trade training, field training, refresher training and goes up to promotion filters. The environment at training institutions inculcates confidence and self-esteem in the trainees. At present, PAF conducts airmen training in two phases.

English - Minimum qualification is BA Division, with at least 45 % marks in English Subject (out of minimum 100 marks Paper)
Mathematics - Min qualification is BSc Division, in one of the following subjects combinations and at least 45% marks in Maths subject.

Matric with Elective Science having 50% marks in aggregate: minimum 33% marks in Physics, Elective Maths, Chemistry and English (50 or above marks out of 150). Candidates condoned with a star in any of the above subjects are eligible only for Aero Support pay scale C. However, candidates condoned with a star in only one out of the remaining subjects (Biology, Urdu, Pak Studies, Islamic Studies etc) may be registered and tested as Aero Support.
Matriculate candidates from approved rural areas who have scored 50% aggregate marks and 33% marks in English subject are eligible for induction in Aero Support only. (However, the candidates belonging to these rural areas scoring 60% aggregate marks and 45% marks in English are eligible to apply as Aero Tech or Aero Support provided they fulfill rest of the criteria)
Balochi domiciled candidates belonging to entire Balochistan Province except Quetta District and possessing 45% aggregate Matric marks and 33% marks in English subject can apply for all categories of airmen provided they fulfill rest of the criteria.
The candidates (along with the original certificates, detailed marks certificates, four attested passport size photographs and Computerized National Identity Card or computerized Form ‘B’) will report at PAF I&S Centres for registration/verification of their academic testimonials/documents. As per instructions of the Govt of Pakistan (Ref L10/51/2004-R-2 dated 2/3/2005), photocopies of the documents are not required at the time of registration, however, preliminary test qualified candidates would deposit photocopies as per requirement during their medical examination.
